Transforming the world begins with each person taking a step.
How does Grace begin?
-
Connect
It all begins with a need. Maybe you want to help the poor, the homeless, the homebound, the sick. Perhaps veterans, children, elderly.
-
Serve
Take a step into serving those in need. If the ministry isn’t there, start one.
-
Grow
We are all meant to transform ourselves first, then the world. Grow into the person God meant you to be.
Ministry and Mission
January mission offering
Gifts will go to the Noah Project from Central Methodist Detroit. Noah is a non-profit organization dedicated to ending homelessness in Detroit.
Paying our share
Apportionment payments help the United Methodist Church pay for a variety of programs, including scholarships and costs of education for pastors and lay leaders. They also are put toward a pool of money that can be loaned to individual churches — a feature Grace UMC has utilized for expenses like the recent roof replacement. The Vision Team at Grace is pleased to report that 2024 apportionments were paid in full. Your gifts are appreciated.
Give to Grace, save taxes
You can make a charitable donation to Grace UMC from your traditional IRA without paying income tax on the distribution. If you are at least 70 1/2, you are eligible. Talk to your financial advisor or see Vision Team member Steve Whittlesey for details.
Giving statement
Your statement for 2024 donations to Grace is available upon request. Contact the church office.
Lay Servant Ministries
Lay Servant Ministries is one of the significant lay leadership development programs available within the United Methodist connection. Through this system of equipping and empowering, lay servants have the opportunity to grow as disciples of Jesus Christ who then go and make other disciples. Deepen your understanding in hospitality, spiritual gifts, leading class, prayer or even preaching. After the basic class, you choose your path.
